先日事務局から開村前の選手村を案内して頂きました。今回は各国選手団が入村する前の貴重な選手村の様子をお伝えしたいと思います。
203ヶ国から約10,500人の選手（コーチや事務局スタッフを含めると数倍の規模）の生活の拠点となる選手村では、オリンピック開催期間選手団が心地よく過ごせるよう色んな工夫が随所に施されています。広さは52ha(東京晴海は44ha)で東京オリンピック選手村よりも2割程広くなっています。
調和の取れた居住棟群をA・B・D・E・Fにエリア分けして何処のエリアからでもアクセスしやすいように中央にメインダイニング棟、オフィシャルショップ、ビレッジプラザ（生活必需品売店、理髪店、銀行、クーリエサービス等入居）が設置されています。
元々選手村のエリアには千人余りの住人が住んでいて学校もあってひとつのコミュニティでしたが、選手村誘致により既存の建物を活用したり再建築したりして新たに選手村として公開されました。9月のパラリンピック終了後は元住人の帰還や新たな入居者募集が始まるでしょう。
選手村内の人の移動はスポンサーのトヨタが開発した電気自動車やパリ市内でも広く普及しているレンタル電動自転車が活躍します。
選手村で活動するボランティアは世界95ヶ国から3千人近い仲間で構成されています。自国フランス在住4割に対して私のように海外から渡仏したボランティアは6割、男女比は男性4割強、女性6割弱で年齢層も多様、正に世界中から色んな人たちが集まって一緒大会を成功させようという熱気が感じられます。そんな中で一緒に仕事が出来ることは唯一無二の経験です。これからの活動が楽しみです。

Hello everone,
I will report about the precious athletes' villages to you. In 203 countries, about 10,500 athletes (several times the size including coaches and administered staff) can be felt comfortable during the Olympic Games.
The harmonious residential buildings are divided into A, B, D, E and F area. The main dining building, official shop, village plaza in the centre, so that it is easy to access from residential area.
As for the public transport, Electric Cabin developed by the sponsor Toyota and electric bicycles that are popular in the streets of Paris are very useful in the athlete's village.
The volunteers who work in the athletes' village are composed of nearly 3,000 friends from 95 countries around the world. 40% of people living in France in their own country are 60% of volunteers who came to France from abroad like me, the ratio of men to women is more than 40%, less than 60% of women, and the age group is diverse. So I feel the enthusiasm of people from all over the world to gather together to succeed in the Paris 2024. In such a situation, it's a unique experience. I'm looking forward to the coming activities.
